Service Description

This sacred ceremony is performed when planting a tree in the sacred grove. Songs and dances are performed to honor the spirit of the tree and the spirit of the person it is planted for (if planted for someone). A hole is dug and tobacco/mapacho is sprinkled in the hole. If honoring someone then the family, friends, or someone else brings in the tree and walks in a circle before stopping above the hole. They then put it down in the hole and dancers dance around the tree while the others sing and clap to the beat. The high priest or priestess then plants the tree. Sometimes a yellow ribbon is tied around the tree, and a picture is sometimes attached as well. After this dancing and singing are done. Then a feast is held. The price will be determined after consulting the practitioner. You and the practitioner will talk over zoom in order to figure out which type of tree you want planted, where will the tree be planted, who will provide the ribbon and which color, who will be honored, if a picture will be added or not, and more. FYI: This is an in person ceremony and the online is only for the consulting portion of the service.
