This is a hair ornament made by men for their wives or girlfriends to show them their love and affection. These are symbols of love taking about 2 to 4 hours to make and using the Butterfly stitch to make. Each one is different with different designs such as a heart, butterfly, flower, tree, feather, ect depending on the girls personality and the guys intentions. They use a stitch called Kamulidots - Love Stitch which is used in order to make Talukimodots - Love Beads. It has seven rows each representing the seven values of a healthy love which are 1. Hatulikots - Commitment, 2. Galetoks - Trust, 3. Palokits - Loyalty, 4. Di’kaa’ini - Communication, 5. Waloštii’ni’ - Respect, 6. Ganazheti - Acceptance, and 7. Femopikalo - Honesty. The seven tassels which hang represent the seven sacred types of love with the seven sacred values called; 1. Lodopidots - Unconditional love, 2. Falopidots - Eternal love/Everlasting love, 3. Galepidots - True love, 4. Kilopidots - Self love, 5. Nakaipidots - Friendship, 6. Zopakipots - Playful love, and 7. Zolopidots - Universal Love. These tassels hang down to the girl's calves or ankles representing the strength of his love for her. The sound they make as she walks is said to ward off evil spirits and to let other men know she is taken. They are worn by using two Jokilopikaats - Hairpin going through it to hold it up. It shows that she is loved and protected as well as treated right.
